Lifeguard Training

Includes CPR for the Professional Rescuer, First Aid, and Lifeguard Training

Whether you are looking for a great summer job or career as a professional lifeguard, it all starts with the training! By passing this 10-week course, you will be qualified as a lifeguard and you can go after that job!

Prerequisites: Be 15 years of age on or before the last day of the class and be able to swim 300 yards continuously. Participants must be able to swim 20 yards using front crawl or breaststroke, surface dive to a depth of 7-10 feet, retrieve a 10-pound object, return to the surface, and swim 20 yards back to the starting point with the object within 1 minute 40 seconds. Course includes First Aid and CPR for the Professional Rescuer. Course books are provided on the first day of class. Lifeguard Training is good for 3 years, First Aid and CPR Professional certification is valid for 2 years.

Adult, Child & Infant CPR

This class is designed to teach participants how to recognize and care for breathing and cardiac emergencies in adults, children, and infants. This class also covers victim assessment and emergency response. Loaned course books are provided at the first class or may be purchased at the Red Cross office. Adult, Child, and Infant CPR Certification is good for 2 years.
