Join us for our most popular youth sports league of the year! Our Youth Soccer League will introduce and develop age appropriate skills and game-play strategies that lead to a lifelong enjoyment of “The Beautiful Game”, while creating a foundation of physical abilities that translate to a variety of other sports and activities!  Our program features a progression based curriculum that provides a stepping stone approach to soccer skill development, and provides a well-rounded understanding of the game rules and strategies. Like all of our youth sports leagues, our soccer league is committed to our program’s Core Values of Inclusion, Skill Development, Family Balance, and Lifelong Enjoyment of the Game!  Let’s Play!

2019 LEAGUE REGISTRATION HAS ENDED. 
To join our league wait list (no payment necessary), please click above.  Players from the wait list will be used to fill in open roster spots on a first come, first served basis.  We will make every effort to place as many kids from the wait list as we can, and you will be contacted if/when a spot becomes available.  

We are excited to announce an new partnership with the Chicago Fire of Major League Soccer! This partnership will have huge benefits for the overall league experience, and will feature a pre-season coach seminar in late August, a FREE youth skills clinic for all grade levels in October, custom lesson plans for all coaches in each age group, Fire game ticket deals, and exclusive in-game experiences for APRD players & families!  Lots more details to follow!

August 16 – Coaches will receive their team rosters and begin contacting their team families.
August 21 – Coach Meeting at the Scheig Center in Appleton Memorial Park.  K-2nd Grade Coaches – 5:00pm, New Coach Training Session – 6:15pm, 3rd-6th Grade Coaches – 7:30pm 
August 25 (Week of) – Team practices begin.
August 26 – League Schedules Posted
August 29 – Chicago Fire Coaching Clinic (K-2nd Grade Coaches), 5:30 – 7:30pm
August 30 – Chicago Fire Coaching Clinic (3rd-6th Grade Coaches), 5:30 – 7:30pm.
September 7 – First Day of Games!
Sept 30 – Oct 4 – Team Photos – Memorial Park.
October 12 – NO GAMES – Chicago Fire Youth Skills Clinic (FREE!) – Times TBD
October 19 – Final Day of League Games

LEAGUE FORMAT:

Grade levels refer to the grade in which the child will be entering in the Fall, as of September 1.

Kindergarten – Co-Ed (boys & girls together), games played on a U-8 sized field, 5 vs. 5, No Goalies.
1st Grade – Boys Division and Girls Division, games played on a U-8 sized field, 6 vs. 6 WITH Goalies.
2nd Grade thru 4th Grade – Boys Division and Girls Division, each grade separate, games played on a U-10 sized field.  8 vs. 8 WITH Goalies.
5th & 6th Grade – Boys Division and Girls Division, grades combined , games played on U-12 sized field. (8 vs. 8 or 9 vs. 9) WITH Goalies.
TEEN CORE (7th / 8th Grade) – grades combined, games played on a U-12 sized field, 11 vs. 11 WITH Goalies.

TEAM STRUCTURE:

  • Kindergarten teams are Co-ed (boys and girls together).  All other formats are separated by gender and grade.
  • Grade levels are kept separated when possible (dependent on participation rates), and grouped together when necessary (5th & 6th Grade combined, for example).
  • Play with your friends! Children will be placed onto teams by school (or combinations of nearby schools).  Specific Friend and Coach Requests WILL BE HONORED whenever possible!

SCHEDULE & LOCATION:

DATES:  Games will be played on Saturdays, September 7 through October 19, 2019.  (No games October 12)

LOCATION:  2019 Games will be played on the Northeast side of the USA Youth Sports Complex, off of French Rd.  PRACTICES will take place at a variety of city operated park sites / fields, and reserved by league coaches for use.
