Hustle, bustle, worry, scurry.   This is often what it feels like to be a parent in today’s busy and uncertain world.  While stress and fear often permeate our day-to-day lives, we can still practice the pause in parenting.  We can breathe and be.  We can cherish the gift of the precious present with our families.  Join me on a mindful parenting journey to cultivate calm in our homes and our hearts.

Why Mindfulness for Families?  Why should you cultivate mindfulness in your home? Mindfulness not only creates a greater awareness of the present moment, but it also helps your you and your child grow these superpowers:

  • Develop analytical and creative thinking skills
  • Strengthen self-control
  • Increase attention span
  • Promote positivity
  • Develop healthy coping skills
  • Cultivate deeper connection

About the Teacher:  The Mindfulness Mysteries! parent-child retreat and mindful parenting series is offered by Christy Sprotte, Ed.S., NCSP.  Christy’s journey into mindful parenting began in 2014 while attempting to juggle a newborn in one arm while tending to a tenacious toddler with the other arm.  After learning the transformative power of mindfulness in her own home, Christy now has a passion for empowering families to live mindfully.  She is the author of three family and youth empowerment curricula, including Mindfulness Mysteries!

Do you want to unlock the mystery of mindful parenting?  This 5-week mindful parenting journey will help you cultivate calm and more deeply cherish the gift of the precious present with your families.  Each week, we will experience guided mindfulness practice, discuss strategies to practice the pause in parenting, and learn how to cultivate more gratitude and joy in our homes. Exercises will include journaling, guided art prompts, silent reflection, and discussion.  All parents are welcome; specific mindfulness tools for school-age children (ages 5-17) will be shared during the series.  No prior mindfulness or meditation experience required; please come as is.
