Welcome to 2018 Camp APRD!

Our Summer Day Camp provides a safe, fun and active environment in which children can develop new skills, self-esteem and friendships.  This camp is action packed with themed activities that correspond with our exciting field trips*! A field trip is scheduled during each week of Camp APRD (all field trip costs have been built into the cost of the program).  Other weekly activities include a trip to Mead or the new Erb Pool, fishing, ice skating at the Appleton Family Ice Center, archery, canoeing, an afternoon snack and great memories. Campers will also check out the Scheig Center for a nature break, have mini Zumba classes, learn cool things with the Watershed Alliance, hang out with the city's own fire, police and forestry departments….who doesn't want to learn to climb a tree?

Meet our Camp Counselors...

Makenzie graduated from Kimberly High School in 2016 and is now a junior at UW-Stevens Point majoring in Athletic Training. She is also a member of the track and field team! As she gears up for camp this summer, she is very excited to build relationships with the campers, do new things each day, and enjoy the opportunity to be outside. Makenzie likes running, playing sports, hanging out with friends and family, and playing with her dog. Samantha just graduated from UW-LaCrosse with a teaching degree. She plans to teach in the Fox Cities area in the fall. This is her 4th summer with Appleton Parks and Recreation, but her 1st with Camp APRD. The previous 3 summers she was a Playground Leader for our Playground Program. She is looking forward to being outside and playing games with the campers. Samantha enjoys running, cooking, and being at her family's cabin outside of work and school.

Ryan just graduated from Xavier High School and will be attending UW-Milwaukee in the fall to study Marketing and Entrepreneurship. He is eager to get to know the campers and making the camp experience enjoyable for each of them. He likes that his primary work space will be the outdoors! Ryan was on the Xavier basketball team as well as the football team. He enjoys weightlifting and water sports in his free time.
