Outdoor Winter Activities



Take advantage of the great outdoors and the numerous winter recreational opportunities we have to offer right in your backyard! Spend an afternoon or evening with your family at one of our Winter Recreation Centers throughout the city, starting December 23 through February 12 (weather permitting). Our supervised Winter Recreation facilities offer restrooms, warming areas, telephones, and a variety of concessions.

WINTER CONDITIONS UPDATE: Ice Rinks are scheduled to open December 23, 2017

Reid Golf Course: Sledding hill and cross country ski trail. Indoor warming area with concessions and restrooms.

Appleton Memorial Park: Sledding hill and cross country ski trail.  Outdoor ice rink provided right outside the Appleton Family Ice Center (AFIC) and at Appleton Memorial Park Pond, maintained by Appleton Parks & Recreation. Restrooms, warming area and first aid available within the AFIC.

Pierce Park: Hockey and recreation skating rinks. Restrooms not available.

Erb Park: Brand new sledding hill and lit family skating rink!  Indoor restrooms and concession area.

Jones Park: This facility will be closed this season due to the construction of the Fox Cities Exhibition Center.


Highview Park: Ice rink.


Colony Oaks: Ice rink.


Cross-Country Ski Trails:
Reid Golf Course will have traditional cross country and skate ski trails available. There is also traditional cross-country skiing to be available in Appleton Memorial Park along with a snowshoe course.
