Dogs in City Parks

CAN DOGS BE IN CITY OF APPLETON PARKS?

The answer is 'yes' dogs are allowed in city parks as of June, 2017 and as long as the ordinance below is followed.

  • Dog must remain on a sidewalk, trail or road.
  • Dog must be on a restraint (chain, rope or leash less than or equal to 8 feet in length).
  • The person holding the restraint must be competent to control/restrain the dog.

  • A dog must have tags showing license and vaccination and the handler must immediately remove any animal excrement.

EXCEPTION TO THE ORDINANCE: ***Dogs are NOT allowed at special events unless preapproved by the event organizer AND the City of Appleton.
